My Britain's Got Skiers Edit also featuring Mike Rowlands
Each year Ellis Brigham host a video and edit contest called Britain's Got Skiers. Now in its' fourth year the competition has grown, attracting freeski athletes from all over the UK to make their mark on the scene. Edits have to be no more than 3 minutes long, must contain British skiers only and be filmed from the start of the 12/13 season onwards.
Check out Britain's Got Skiers on Facebook for more information and to view other edits.
This summer I have been based in Les Deux Alpes, France. It's been a pretty epic summer skiing wise and no doubt it had something to do with the obscene snowfall that covered most of the Alps last winter. The park has held up well and the weather has been pretty consistent all summer with only a few glitches here and there.

So.....the edit. In previous years I've wanted to do something different. Most people put their best footage with a bangin' tune and that's great but this year I was determined to try and make mine stand out a little. Many of you may have noticed that the freeskiing community has been bombarded by a variety of style fads and identities. As our sport grows so does the variety of riding styles out there. The thought came to me that we could in fact be subconsciously seeking a new look.

By combining my early mid-life crisis and Mike's battle with teenage insecurities we had the foundation of a storyline. In the quest to find a new identity we experimented with various styles and freeski fashion accessories.

It was so much fun making this edit! Whether is was from riding around in different gear, trying out a different skiing style or patiently "counting money" as Charlie from Alpoholics numerously stuttered or botched his line in the opening scene! It was a pleasure to film with Mike and everyone else that helped us get the odd shot.

I wasn't familiar with the latest version of Final Cut Pro but after a while and some patience it started to become a little more simple. Trying to incorporate the different editing styles and riding styles was a challenge to say the least. I'm not entirely happy and it was certainly harder than I thought to put a storyline into a 3 minute edit.

Anyway it's just meant to be a fun edit so check it out and enjoy!
