Val d'Isère's Most Wanted - The Planks Heist 2.0
On Wednesday the 29th of March 2023, an event went down that shook the mountain town of Val d'Isère. Bigger than the Saucisson Seize of 1969, it was none other than the second edition of the notorious Planks Heist!
Despite the wet weather, the swag-stealing skiers and snowboarders showed up in full force, with 36 teams of three, ready to mob the mountain and complete a series of checkpoint missions. The starting point was the Planks Clothing mega-store, which may be the size of a shoe box, but don't let its small stature fool you. This store holds some of the most stylish and top-quality ski gear in all of Val d'Isère, and it was the perfect spot to kick off the event.
Now, you might think that we’d have tightened up our security after we were stripped wall-to-wall of swag last year, but these bandits were more determined than ever to get their hands on the freshest Planks gear, along with prizes from LINE Skis and K2. Despite our best efforts, they stopped at nothing to pull off this heist.
The teams set out across Espace Killy, braving the elements, and tackling the missions head-on. This year, the clues were much harder to crack, with more checkpoints to complete and ground to cover. They all had to put their skiing skills and knowledge of the ski area to the test if they wanted to be in with a chance to bag some swag. But despite the tough conditions, the teams persevered.
And now, without further ado, these are the most-wanted men in Val d’Isère… team Le Petit Danois are the winners of this year's Planks Heist! Thanks to our event partners, LINE Skis and K2, the winning teams were rewarded with some super limited edition LINE Special Blends and K2 Flex ski boots. These lucky participants are now the envy of all their friends, and their bragging rights are well deserved.
